What is a Static Eliminator?
EXAIR static eliminators neutralize static electricity charges in a wide variety of industrial processes. Anti-static products eliminate static cling that causes dust attraction, jams and tearing. Materials such as paper, plastic and textiles normally contain an equal number of positive and negative charges – that is, they are electrically balanced. Friction can disturb this balance, causing the material to become electrically charged. This static charge causes the following problems:
- Dust clinging to product
- Product clinging to itself, rollers, machine beds or frames
- Materials tearing, jamming or curling
- Sheet feeding problems
- Hazardous sparks or shocks
EXAIR’s static eliminators are electrically powered, shockless ionizers that deliver a bulk of positive and negative ions to the surface of the charged product to eliminate static and restore the electrical balance.
